Q:
Ok, I am new to all of this, where do I start?
A:
First you need internet access and a browser,
but since you are already here, I guess you already
have that. :-P
A good place to start would be http://www.mirc.co.uk
Read the guidelines and faq, and download mIRC there.
NOTE: use 32 bit version for win95/98 and 16bit version for win 3.11
Q:

A:
First, click on Download mIRC and find a download site close to where you live.
Second, choose 32 bit version for win 95/98 and 16 bit for win 3.1 and 3.11
Third, click on the download link.
(one close to where you live)
Fourth, when the file download box appear, choose
save this program to disk
Fifth, REMEMBER what folder you save mIRC into.
(look into the save in box) and click save.
Sixth, wait till the program is finished downloaded, then right click on the start button in the down left corner of your screen.
Click on explore, find the folder you saved it into, double click on the folder, and double click on the mIRC exe icon.

Select an irc server close to you or click the add button and add some from the list to the left. (inside the add box type in name of server (webbernet for example) then the server. (irc.webbernet.net) ports can be from 6666 to 6668 and you can password protect it if you want.)
Now click on the LOCAL INFO sub item, and make sure that on conect, always get local host also check that the ip add box is checked (for some systems or some internet providers you might need other setting here, if so, download and read the mIRC faq)
